About our privacy policy

Ariki New Zealand Ltd cares about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services and we carefully handle the information we have about you and your use of our services. We never provide your details for commercial purposes to third parties.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by Ariki New Zealand Ltd. The starting date for the validity of these conditions is 22 May 2018, with the publication of a new version voiding the validity of all previous versions. This privacy policy describes the personal data that we collect, what this data is used for and with whom and under what conditions this information can be shared. We also explain  how we store your data, how we protect your data against misuse and what rights you have in relation to the personal data that you provide.

Webshop software

 

WooCommerce 

Our webshop was developed with software from WooCommerce, our webhosting partner is ImpressiveXS B.V. Personal data that you make available to us for the benefit of our services, is shared with this party.

ImpressiveXS B.V. requires access to your data to give us technical support, they will never use your data for any other purpose. ImpressiveXS B.V., under the terms and conditions of the agreement we have with them are required to take appropriate security measures. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Backups are regularly made to prevent data loss.

Our webshop is developed with software from WooCommerce, we host our web store on a server located in The Netherlands. We have taken all possible  technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss or corruption of data. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Backups are regularly made.

Web hosting

We partner with ImpressiveXS B.V. for our web hosting and e-mail services. ImpressiveXS B.V. processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for their own purposes. However, this party can collect metadata about the use of the services. This data is not personal data.

Email newsletter

Our website uses inwise, a third party that does the handling of any newsletters.  Inwise will never use your name or email address for their own commercial purposes. At the bottom of every e-mail that is automated there is an ‘unsubscribe’ link. If you click this link you will no longer receive e-mail newsletters from our site.

Cookies

Ariki New Zealand Ltd uses cookies.  Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. Trusted Shops

Integration of the Trusted Shops Trustbadge

We have integrated the Trusted Shops Trustbadge on this website in order to display our Trusted Shops Trustmark and offer the Trusted Shops services to customers after placing an order.

This serves the protection of our legitimate interests in the optimal marketing of our offer according to art. 6 (1) 1 lit f GDPR that are overriding in the process of balancing of interests. The Trustbadge and the advertised trust badge services are offered by Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne, Germany.

With every use of the Trustbadge, the web server automatically saves a so-called server log file which contains e.g. your IP address, the date and time of the request, the volume of data transferred and the requesting provider (access data), and documents the request. Those access data are not analysed and are automatically overwritten no later than seven days after the end of your website visit.

Other personal data is transferred to Trusted Shops only if you decide to use or have already registered to use Trusted Shops services after placing an order. In such a case, the contract concluded between you and Trusted Shops applies.

Shipping and logistics

NZPost

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the NZPost services for carrying out the deliveries. It is therefore necessary that we give your name, address and share your residence details with NZPost. NZPost uses this information only for the purpose of carrying out the delivery agreement. In the event that NZPost engages subcontractors, NZPost will also provide your data to these parties.

USPS

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the USPS services for carrying out deliveries to the USA. It is therefore necessary that we give your name, address and share your residence details with USPS. USPS uses this information only for the purpose of carrying out the delivery agreement. In the event that USPS engages subcontractors, USPS will also provide your data to these parties.

 Skytrack

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the Skytrack  services for carrying out deliveries to Australia. It is therefore necessary that we give your name, address and share your residence details with Skytrack. Skytrack uses this information only for the purpose of carrying out the delivery agreement. In the event that Skytrack engages subcontractors, Skytrack will also provide your data to these parties

Administration and Accounting

For our tracking of deliveries and our administration and accounting we store your data. We store your name, address and residence details as well as details regarding your order..

External sales channels

Bol.com

We sell (a part of) our articles through the Bol.com platform. If you place an order via this platform then Bol.com will share your order and personal details with us. We use this information to complete your order. We deal confidentially with your data and have appropriate technical and organizational measures taken to protect your data against loss and unauthorized use.

Purpose of data processing

General purpose of the processing

We only use your data for the benefit of our services. That is, the goal of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you provide.

Personal data that we hold will only be used for future promotional purposes if you have given your consent for this use by ticking the appropriate box when you make your first purchase. Your data will not be shared with third parties other than for the purposes of complying with accounting and other administrative obligations. In some instances, Ariki New Zealand Ltd may be under a legal obligation to share your personal data in connection with Government, tax or a criminal investigation. In these circumstances we are legally required to share your data.

Retention periods

We will keep your client profile unless or until you advise us in writing that you no longer wish to use our services. In such instances we will treat this as a “forgetting request” and will delete all records containing your personal data.

Your rights

On the basis of the applicable European legislation, you as a data subject have certain rights with regard to personal data processed by or on behalf of us. We explain below what these rights are and how you can invoke these rights. In principle, in order to prevent misuse, we will send copies of your data only to your known e-mail address. In case you want the data to be sent to another e-mail address or, for example, by mail we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep records of completed requests.  In the case of a forgetting request we administer anonymous data. All transcripts and copies requested by you will be sent in the machine-readable data format that we use within our systems.  You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at any time  you suspect that we misuse your personal data.

You have the right to access the processed data that relates to you personally. You can submit such a request to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will email a copy of all your personal data to the email address that we have on record.

Rectification right

You have the right to have adjusted the processed data that relates to you personally or is traceable to you. You can submit such a request to our contact person for privacy issues. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will email you confirmation that the adjustments have been completed. When making such a request you must confirm your current email address.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to restrict the use of the processed data that relates to you personally or is traceable to you. You can submit such a request to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will advise you by email that this request has been actioned. When making such a request you must confirm your current email address.

Right of transferability

You have the right to transfer to another party the processed data that relates to you personally or is traceable to you. You can submit such a request to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies by email of all information that we hold relating to you. This will include all data processed by us or processed by others on our behalf.

Right of objection and other rights

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by Ariki New Zealand Ltd or by a processor commissioned by Ariki New Zealand Ltd. If you object, we will immediately stop the data processing pending the settlement of your objection. If your objection is well-founded, we will provide copies of all processed data that personally relates to you for your disposal. Ariki New Zealand Ltd will cease to process your data and delete all processed electronic data that relates to you personally.

You also have the right not to be part of automated individual decision making or becoming a profiling subject. We do not process your data in such a way that infringes this right. If you believe these rights have been infringed please contact our privacy contact person.

Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. On this page you will always find the most recent version. If the new privacy policy affects the way we already collect data in relation to you, we will notify you by e-mail.
